The Challenge

When Power Stops, Data Stops.

Connected infrastructure depends on continuous, reliable data. Yet battery depletion, power constraints and maintenance interruptions can create data gaps, increase operating costs and compromise the quality of operational decisions.

  • Data continuity

Power interruptions can create gaps in sensor data, reducing visibility into assets, infrastructure and operations.

  • The cost of continuity

Battery replacements, maintenance interventions and site visits increase the cost of keeping connected devices operational and data flowing.

  • Data-driven decisions

Incomplete or inconsistent data can undermine monitoring, analytics and automation, leading to slower decisions and higher operating costs.

Our Technology

Power Delivered Through the Air.

Cota® is a patented wireless power technology developed by Ossia Inc. in the United States, enabling compatible devices to receive electrical power over a distance — without charging pads, physical contacts or conventional power cables.

An Ossia transmitter sends RF energy through the air to the Cota® chipset integrated in a compatible device, which converts it into usable electrical power.

How Cota® works: the Ossia transmitter sends wireless RF power to Cota®-powered devices, which have the Cota® chipset integrated inside. Separately, the devices send data to the Cota® cloud over Wi-Fi, LTE, LPWAN or other connectivity.

Our Value

Designed to Simplify the Connected World.

Depending on the application, wireless power can change how connected devices are installed, scaled and maintained.

  • Deployment simplicity

Designed to reduce the wiring and battery logistics involved in installing connected devices.

  • Scalability

Intended to support growing numbers of devices from a shared power infrastructure.

  • Flexibility

Can support device placement where it is most useful, not only where a power outlet exists.

  • Operational efficiency

Can help reduce routine maintenance, depending on the application and deployment.

Applications

One Technology. Multiple Opportunities.

Cota® is intended for environments with many low-power devices, where wiring or battery replacement is difficult or costly.

  • A small wireless sensor mounted on the wall of a bright modern office

    Smart Buildings

Environmental, occupancy and access sensors that can be placed where they are needed and kept powered over the air.

  • A calm, warmly lit hotel guest room

    Commercial Hospitality

Guest-room controls, locks and in-room devices designed to operate with less disruptive maintenance.
